FreeFrom Food Awards 2015

The FreeFrom Food Awards is a prestigious and highly recognised award, it’s like the Oscars of the free from industry recognising good quality and tasty free from food. Last night (April 22), the awards were presented by Antony Worrall Thompson at the Royal College of Physicians in London.

The judging process was held earlier this year and the judging panel included nutritionist, bloggers, coeliacs, people living on various diets such as egg, soya or dairy free, free from food professionals, and of course those who live on a “normal” diet and don’t usually eat free from food.

Judging was based on standard criteria including taste, texture, general usefulness, nutritional value and even the difficulty of making the product. Following the judging process, a shortlist was published in February. The judges then selected the winner products, and those that should receive highly commended and commended status.

On the last day, the winner of the FAIR Trophy was selected – which would go to best free from food overall.
